Life is hard when you're honest.
Anywho. There have been distinct gaps in my posting, despite my original conviction to post every single day. There's a few reasons for that, and since I've discovered that people (whom I don't even know, relatives and friends don't count) are actually reading this thing I feel it necessary to explain:
1) I'm self-employed now doing freelance writing, and while it's not entirely a full time gig (seeing as how I can walk away and go do something else anytime I want), mingled with being a stay-at-home dad my free-time has been dwindling.
2) A blog network - I'm working on creating a small blog network of all the blogs I will be working on. One is a zombie blog... I cannot disclose further info, but it will basically be a creative outlet for me, and a way to make other people laugh. I also am working on a tech blog to direct business to my company website for Thunder Bay Media Probably going to add other things, but I are too busy.
3) I've been having bouts of nostalgia so I cracked into some old games I haven't played in a long time, like Halo. One in particular I actually found on Steam online. Xcom - UFO defense. This game came out in the mid 90's I think, or early 90's. I loved it then and I loved it now. I paid $4.99 to get an updated version that would run on my newer PC. I have a terrible addiction to video games, and lately I've just been living it up, hence that title of this post. If it makes sense, then you're a gamer at heart as well.
4) My child is hilarious. This wouldn't normally be an excuse for anything but I was finding that Id post something she did and an hour or two later she would do something even funnier. I'd post them all, but you just can't expect people to keep up with several posts per day. It's overwhelming. Being that I'm optimistic and like to assume that I have hundreds of viewers each month, I decided it was simply easier to hold off a day or two and just post a few times a week. This way I can give you multiple doses of fun in a single shot.
Or one big long angry rant like last time. For all of my regulars, I apologize for showing you my angry panties. It was a moment of weakness, it will never happen again
Well maybe once or twice.
A few times.
Probably pretty regularly.
So on a lighter note, I decided to ditch the cleaning and romp with the kid last night. I stacked chairs and whatnot around the table and covered it with my califoria kind comforter and other blankets. Once the castle was built, I cut a wrapping paper tube in half and turned one over to Emma. Let the epic lightsaber battle commence.
At first she swung it awkwardly, because we'd never done anything like this before. Within 15 minutes I taught her how to do an overhead strike, to thrust, and to slash. She actually backed me up to the counter she was so energetic. At one point, she turned and ran around the table. I thought she was hiding, and I peeked around after her. She came barreling around the other side and slashed me on my side then thrust her "lightsaber" against my arm. SHE FLANKED ME! I was so proud.
She finished my off by plucking the "lightsaber" from my hand, pulling my shirt up and blowing a big raz on my tummy.
I got beat up by a girl with a sword, it was pretty cool. I taught Xena everything she knows.
